The new Model 513 was redesigned for reliable processing of metal tape, tubes, plastic strips, and light cables. To withstand aggressive environments, this model was equipped with a 12 mm sheet steel housing. It’s equipped with a magnetic starter to protect users from unexpected restarting after a power loss. Health and safety
An emergency stop will shut off the machine after you pressed it.
This model has limited pulling force so you could not get hurt or injured.
The level of noise production is very hard to determine because it depends a lot on the conditions of use. If you work steel or pet, it's different than when you chop material that has a resonance. The type of collecting bin is important. If the chopped material falls into a cardboard box it will not make as much noise as when it falls into steel container but when the latter becomes filled up with material its noise level will go down.
No specific dust emission could be determined but it needs to be said that - depending on the material you chop - it could produce dust.
Maintenance
This chopper uses knives (blades) which can be turned over 4 times before replacement becomes necessary.
To rotate or change a knife, the manual shows it to you step by step with the help off full color pictures.
It's not easy for us to know how long a knife can last because again every customer is different. In a general way we can say that most of our customers rolls the knives over once / year. Customers running big piles of rusty straps or customers who cut very thin material will have to change their knives faster than customer who have no dust and working brittle material.
Regular greasing and cleaning are a must.
