For more than 50 years, Sweeds Model 510 XHD has been the machine of choice for high-volume conversion of plastic and metal banding, mild steel flat bar and slitter-line trim. For easy maintenance, the Model 510 XHD has been designed with a hinged feedworks, making it an excellent choice for in-line placement to process slitter trim.
We recommend this machine to customers running flat material width up to 40 mm . The machine runs especially soft and smooth since it has the knife rotation +/- similar to scissors used in household . This makes it less useful in cutting single wires .

How does it work ?
-
- Start the machine and give it some time to get to the working RPM . ( say 15 sec)
- Grab the material you want to chop and give it to the infeed opening on the machine .
- For your own safety, stand to the side .
- The machine will pull and chop the material you have enterred untill its end .
After chopping, the nuggets will fall out underneath the chopper in the collecting bin of your choice .
Health and safety
An emergency stop stops the machine as soon as you press it.
The level of noise production is very difficult to determine and depends very much on the conditions of use. If you process steel or cap, the noise production will be different. The type of collector is also an important factor in the noise production.
Depending on the material you chop, the machine can produce dust.
Maintenance
The steel blades of this chopper can be turned 4 times before they need to be replaced.
The manual with colour pictures shows you step by step how to rotate or change a knife. It is difficult to determine how long a knife can last. This varies from customer to customer. Most of our customers rotate their knives once a year. Customers with large piles of rusty tires or customers who cut very thin material will have to change their knives faster.
Regular lubrication and cleaning are recommended.
Environment
* Option 1 : customers processing steel strip
You will no longer drive around with trucks filled with air.
* Option 2 : customers with PET straps
Making new PET from old PET saves 75% CO2. With every kilogram of PET material offered for recycling, you save 4.3 kg of CO2. This is equivalent to driving 40 km by car.
